We Daves have been honored to have been the ladlers of PEA Soup for the last ten years (and Shoe for the last 18). This has been a haven for some excellent moral and political philosophy, both full-fledged and half-assed. We’ve had a ton of fun doing it, with the help of our outstanding team of associate editors. But every Soup has its day. Or sometimes the Soup hits the fan. Or sometimes people just get Souped out. What we’re trying to say is that we are stepping down from running PEA Soup.

The much more exciting news is that it will now (as of Monday, 9/12) be taken over and run by Warwick University’s Centre for Ethics, Law, and Public Affairs (CELPA), which includes PEA Soup’s longstanding good friend and commentator Victor Tadros, as well as Katy Wells, Tom Parr, Sameer Bajaj, and Patrick Tomlin. This is great news for you! Long live Soup!

We simply wanted here to express our deep gratitude to the entire PEA Soup team, which includes all of our glorious associate editors, but also the regular posters, commentators, and lurkers who have stayed with us for all these tasty years. This has been a special experience for us, and as much of a cliché that it is to say, it wouldn’t have been possible without you. Although it was mainly due to us. Sure, you had some interesting things to say now and again, but where would you be without us and our efforts to keep this blog alive, to float new ideas, to execute in the paint? I mean, seriously, why aren’t you grateful to US? Why are we blathering on now about YOU? You have some nerve! Good day, sir! I said, good day!

  1. Glad to hear it will continue and thanks for all the work you all have done to keep it top notch all these years.

  2. Just a quick note to say that CELPA at Warwick is delighted to be taking over the running of PEA Soup. Thanks so much to the two Daves for trusting us with their precious broth, and also for wonderful work over the years in making this such a terrific site. We have a few plans for some new ingredients so keep your eyes peeled.

  3. Thanks so much, Daves, for all your hard work on this! Very much appreciated and souper indeed!
