The Centre for Ethics is able to accommodate a limited number of visiting professors each year. Although we do not provide salary replacement or support, the Centre is able to provide an office and computer, library privileges and access to the University’s electronic resources. Visiting professors are expected to contribute to the academic and intellectual life of the Centre, through participation in the various seminars, workshops and reading groups.

Applications for Visiting Professor positions for the 2016-17 academic year should be submitted by February 15, 2016, and we will notify successful applicants after March 1. Late applications will be accepted until all positions are filled. We will also consider candidates who are interested in shorter visits.  Please specify whether you would like to come in the summer (May-August), fall (September-December) or winter term (January-April). In order to apply, please send a cover letter to ethics@utoronto.ca explaining briefly your background and research plans, and include a copy of your current CV.

 Please note that these visiting positions are intended for individuals holding full-time faculty positions at other post-secondary institutions. Visitors who are not citizens or permanent residents of Canada are responsible for arranging his or her own funding for all travel and accommodation expenses. Visitors will receive an official letter of invitation, which can be used as necessary for visa requirements. Enrolment in the University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP) is compulsory for non-resident visitors and their dependents whose visit to the University exceeds three weeks.
