Below the fold are a few things going on around the net. If you have any other announcements that
folks at PEA Soup might be interested in, please feel free to add them in the
comments section.

Philosophy and BioethicsDavid Hunter, who regularly comments on posts here at PEA Soup, has
created this website, which, besides carrying a blog pertaining the philosophy
and bioethics, has the aptly-named "Motherlode of Philosophy Journal Table
of Contents, News, Blogs, and Resources," easily one of the most
comprehensive and useful collections I’ve seen in a long time. Here is a description of the blog and website
from its About page: "The aim of
this blog is to provide a portal for the discussion of bioethics and in
particular the interrelations between philosophy and bioethics."

Ethics Etc This new general ethics blog has a stellar roster. I hope it takes off…the more good ethics
discussion, the better. Here is a
description of the blog from its About page: "Ethics Etc is a forum for discussing contemporary philosophical
issues in normative ethics, metaethics, moral epistemology, moral psychology,
applied ethics, social and political philosophy, law, and other related areas.
Its method is analytical, and it encourages the posting of new ideas and
arguments that have not been fully worked out."

Sports, Ethics, and Philosophy. Issue 1 of this new journal has recently been
published. The description of the
journal’s Aims and Scope suggests that the journal will focus on philosophy of sports more generally, though the introductory Editorial Essay
by Mike McNamee suggests that the journal will focus on sports ethics in particular (with
articles  related to the more general areas of philosophy of sports to be included when
they shed light on issues in sports ethics). I’m looking forward to some great reads.

  1. Thanks for the mention Dan. It is amazing to watch the number of visitors climb!
In regards to the Motherlode, I’ve just done some much needed cleaning up and alphabetized the entries which should make it more useful. I’ve also added links to the home pages of all the ethics, bioethics, political philosophy and general philosophy journals I could find.
I would really appreciate it if people would send me links to any journals they think should be included which are left out. (Or list them here, I will check back)
For their table of contents to be listed in the Motherlode I need an RSS feed, but even if they do not have this I would still like to put a link on the Philosophy and Bioethics webpage to these journals home pages, this would also allow me to list them in the Motherlode as well.
    Cheers
    David Hunter

I hope you don’t mind that I take up the invitation.
I have some stuff on expressivism and realism up over at my blog that some may find interesting…I would be very interested to hear what some of the people around here think! Philosophy Sucks!
    Thanks. Richard
