We are pleased to announce that the Fifth Workshop for Oxford Studies in Political Philosophy will take place on October 12-15, 2017 in Tucson, Arizona. The deadline for paper submission has been extended to April 1.

There will be nine papers at this year’s workshop, including three invited papers by Kristi Olsen, Victor Tadros, and Daniel Viehoff.

We are issuing a call for papers to fill the remaining six slots. Submitted papers should be between 7,500 and 12,000 words including footnotes, should be totally anonymized, and are due by April 1. Accepted papers for the conference will receive serious consideration for inclusion in the resulting Oxford Studies in Political Philosophy volume.

One of the papers presented at the workshop will be awarded the Marc Sanders Prize in Political Philosophy which comes with a $10,000 honorarium. The Marc Sanders Prize is a biennial essay competition open to scholars who, at the time of the submission deadline, are within fifteen (15) years of receiving a Ph.D. or are students currently enrolled in a graduate program. Independent scholars may also be eligible and should direct inquiries to the Editors of Oxford Studies in Political Philosophy, c/o Peter Vallentyne (vallentynep@missouri.edu). Information about the workshop can be found at the workshop website oxfordstudiespoliticalphilosophy.org. Submissions are now being accepted. To reduce spam submissions (alas a problem), you will first have to create an account. Once the account is approved, you can upload your submission. Registration to attend the workshop is also now open.

We would greatly appreciate your forwarding this email to colleagues and/or graduate students in your department, and to any other philosophers you believe might be interested in participating in the workshop.
